Tfs clone - on fetch origin master differs from Tfs master

Dec 10, 2012 at 6:43 PM

After cloning the Tfs without --deep I had one commit where I had branch origin master. A fetch latter I saw that I had origin Tfs that had incremental commits on top of origin master. At that point I had configured - - deep on my repo. What is the purpose of both origin Tfs and origin master considering I did a clone of a particular branch when cloning Tfs. Thanks. Ghita

Hello Ghita,

Sorry for the late reply. When you clone a tfs directory using git tf we create a remote called origin tfs to basically help the user track the difference between any branch and the latest downloaded tfs source. If you just cloned the repo from tfs I am not sure if there should be an origin master branch. Can you provide me some more details ?
