From MS Git-TF backlog

Not planning on creating an MSI installer for Windows due to the issue of bundling a JRE as a pre-req. Let us know if you disagree.

Oh man was this still kicking around the backlog?

Does Chocolatey satisfy this? Martin?

I interpret this as "give me an MSI that installs everything I need for Windows".

I don't see us every building an MSI that would bundle up a JRE plus Git-TF so that it could be a stand-alone installer. It's too important that you keep your Java up too date so best that we encourage people to get it from their preferred JRE vendor.

Unless we bundled pre-reqs then I don't see the point of an installer myself.

Closing for now - unless anyone wants to vote this up and has a good idea (other than Chocolatey) to handle pre-reqs. If there is any interest in adding git-tf to Web Platform Installer then we should create a new issue for that.

If people want to create a .deb or or .rpm that would be interesting - again we should probably track that as a separate issue if someone starts working on it.
