git-tf checkin takes a very long time

Jul 15, 2013 at 7:50 PM
I have a 2GB repo with a little over 200 commits. My config is:

Default Depth : Shallow
Tag Changeset Commits : true
Include Meta Data in Changeset Comments : false

When I integrate back in to TFS, by far the longest step is the git tf checkin. I always use the --shallow argument. This can take 20 minutes on relatively small checkins.

I realize this is a large repo but was just wondering if there is any guidance or upcoming releases that can address or at least partially mitigate this kind of perf.

Thanks!
