I am trying to migrate a git repo to TFS and we want to retain the its history with that i use git tf --deep, but im encountering some error with some commit messages that happened 2 years, and unfortunately i cannot change the messages of that commit.

I would just like to ask if it is possible to do a git tf --deep to a certain period of time only, let say we only one to retain the history from 1 year ago to present is that possible?

Please let me know if this is possible or if there are other ways to do it.

Thank You.

You could use Git first to rewrite history and squash some commits. Consider commands fast-export (followed with fast-import) or filter-branch... (It would be a good idea to backup your repository first or do experiments on a copy of the repository :-))
